Abstract
Modern sociological studies suggest that during the capitalistic era of
social evolution through the requirements of trade mechanism, human
beings at every step of their lives, are facing new needs. These mechanically
created new needs have been bringing forth commercial societies
everywhere in the World. In Urdu literature, especially in the fiction fields,
readers are coming across new kind of social and cultural scenarios based
on entirely new commercial setups. The writer of this article points out that
contemporary materialistic needs have been forcing too the Urdu short
story writers to depict in their stories new kind of aptitudes coming out of
prevalent consumerist systems.
