Abstract
"A History of Urdu Literature" by Ram Babu Saksena is the first
remarkable and comprehensive history of both prose and poetry in Urdu
Literature. He tried to write this history on the Western principles of
historiography. If we look back in the past, it reveals that Saksena is the first
whose methodology is based upon research. The authenticity of history
depends upon the sources becuase on the course of research, sources
determines the reliability and fineness of facts. Although Ram Babu Saksena
wrote his history on the base of the best and unique soruces but he did not
present their full evidences and references. This article narrates the
introduction of these soruces to show its worth. It also mentions the places
from which Saksena cited.
