Abstract
Perveen Shakir is one of the shining stars amongst the galaxy of
legendary poetess like Ada Jafri, Zuhra Nigar, Kishwar Naheed, Fahmeeda
Riaz, Shabnum Shakil and Perveen Fanna Syed who all have the specialty to
discuss feminism in their poetry. This article examines the delicate feminine
sentiments of Perveen Shakir in her poetry who followed the already
mentioned poetess but introduced feminism in advance poetry. A great
poetess having multi dimensional poetry but revolving around the
feminism. Her five books include Kushboo, Sud Burg, Khud Kalami, Inkaar
and Kuf-e-Aiena reflect different shades of feminism. Her poetry seems to
be getting matured from Khushboo to Kaf-e-Aiena as she passes through
the hardship of life from spinster-hood to motherhood and then
deceitfulness to divorce. She stands first among the equal due to her unique
style of expressions and her contribution in literature.
