Allāma Ghulām Rasōl Sa‘eedī (1937-2016) stands ahead
among those intellectual par excellence who spent their entire
life in the propagation of Islamic knowledge and departed this
mundane world during the same blessed service. He authored a
large number of books, which are comprehensive and farfamed. Exegesis of Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim, Tafsīr Tibyān ul Qur‘ān,
Ni’mat ul Bārī and Tafsīr Tibyān ul Furqān are the manifest
evidence of his encyclopedic knowledge. The article will deal
with the distinctions and methodology of the first detailed
literary service of ‘Allāma Sa‘eedī, i.e. ‘Sharah Ṣaḥiḥ
Muslim’.The primary aim of the article is to highlight the
significance of interpretation of Sharah Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim. Utilizing
analytical research methodology, the article presents pattern,
methodology and distinctions of Sharah. The research stands
very significantly in Islamic literature because it revisits the
book to elaborate his contributions in the field of the Hadīth
sciences and opens up an exposure for Islamic researchers to
study books of aḥadīth with this aspect as well. The study
concludes the matchless work of ‘Allāma Sa‘eedī in this
particular field deserves to be acknowledged with open
heartedly.
