The article focuses on the state of idol worship in Arabia before the advent of Islam. It highlights different idols which have been associated with different works and deeds by the idol worshippers. The historical sketch of the Arab society presents a peculiar picture of worship in general and idol worship in particular. The origin, nature and essence of idol worship in the peninsula of Arabia been described in a way to understand the dynamics of Arab society on the one hand and idol worship on the other hand.
