Aftab Iqbal Shamim is one of the most important Urdu poets
which modern Urdu poem has ever produced. He has six
collections of poems to his credit which have been published
in a collective form titled as “NADRYAFTA” comprising
1100 pages and more than 300 poems. His creative career is
spread over fifty years influenced by different national and
international literary and political movements. He has
emerged as a great advocator of basic human rights denying
every type of tyranny, brutality and cruelty. This article is an
effort to research humanistic perspective in his poetry.
