The Impact Dadaism on Urdu and Saraiki Literature: Analytical Study
Abstract
Critical, intellectual and literary movements birth to new point
of views and establish novel trends. Postmodern intellectual
thoughts in Saraiki literature have produced new sementics
metaphors. Slangs were introduced into creative art and
literature as bare realities became the subject matter of
literature. Hence, the objective of this paper was to present the
background of "Dadaism" as western intellectual movement.
The study aimed at analysing the direct and indirect impacts of
this movement on urdu and saraiki literature. The findings of
this research show that a similar movement to Dadaism was
even observed by the critics in the region of southern Punjab.
The study of "Vagtti" as a genre of folk literature was also a
contribution of this article which will enhance the significance
of the present study.
