Abstract
Shah Latif is globally known as a mystic poet. His poetry depicts the
pain of Sussui, love and commitments of Marvi and the sacrifices of Suhni.
Shah Latif not only highlights spiritual and social aspects of Sindhi society but
also exhibits romantic and revolutionary waves through his poetic message. In
addition to the aforementioned elements, Latif has also discussed various
trades and professions in his poetry. This research paper studies the dignity of
blacksmith in Latif’s poetry. Content analysis method is used to carry out the
study findings which suggest that Latif has illustrated the said profession in his
poetry quite remarkably. This study shall prove to be a fine addition to the subject of Latifiyat.
