Abstract
This article "Mc Taggart's Concept of Time and Iqbal" brings to light a contrast of opinion between a teacher and his taught. Mc Taggart, a philosphor and teacher of Iqbal at Cambridge in England, was of the view that time is unreal because every new event is three dimensional i.e, past, present and future. Iqbal says that this view is due to the superficial survey of time. Real time is not objective but subjective phenomenon. On the internal side, there is no past, present and futrue. There is succession without change. Secondly, even considering time an objective phenomenon, future is never in hand. It is always a probability. So far past and present is concerned, every new event creates its specific relation with the preceding event e.g. before the event x becomes past for the event y, it was present to its preceding event. So every event represents one dimension of time in relation to other event. Thus Iqbal rejects the idea of unreality of time, based on three dimensions of time.
