Tariq Asharf : An Immortal diligent character of Sindhi Literature

Abstract
Tariq Ashraf who lived for 52 years (1940-1992) but stirred the nerve of the people to come to rescue Sindh and Sindhi Language and literature. He himself belonged to Syed family and this family homed to city life to groom up the young to get real education; hence settled at Hyderabad. He was a real, sincere and loyal to the birth land. When he came to awareness and consciousness for Sindh, the problems of Sindhi people and tyrannies of feudal lords and landlords over poor people, he couldn’t help except starting the Sindhi Magazine “Sohini”. He introduced the talents of young people and published the stories of learned writers and the efforts of Sindhi students, teachers and professors of the University of Sindh. 1967 movement of the Sindhi Students is worth seen. He never got disappointed after seeing the plight of the people. He was right to think so; because he received abundant of letters from the people of Sindh including Sindhi zealots in coming forward to make protests to defend against such a prejudicial order when his Magazine “Sohini” was banned by the authorities.
