Abstract
Hakim Abu Al-Qasem Mansur bin Hasan, Ferdowsi was born in a large village "Baz" near the city of "Tus" in the province of "Khorasan" , Iran in about 329 A.H/940 A.D and died in the same place, in about 411 A.H/1020 A.D. He wrote his Master piece of epic poetry, known as "Shah Nama-e-Ferdowsi" which consists of sixty thousand Persian verses. In this book, he expressed ancient history of Iran, half of which comprised of fictional history. In this way, he preserved old traditions of Iran and stories of various Irani Heroic personalities. In this article, a story of "Zahak Mar Dosh" is critically analysed. In the Persian language, " Mar Dosh" means that a person having snakes on his shoulders.
