Abstract
Islam appeared in arabia during the 7th century with the declaration of great nabuwat by Muhammad (p. b.u.h).At the time of arrival of Islam, the prominent kinds of prose were oratory( الخطابة (will(الوصية(maxims& proverbs الحكم( ( ) والأمثال and saj ul kuhan(الكهان سجع .(The prophet of Islam& the holy Quran introduced a new and impressive way of talking during daily routine talks and sermons. The holy Quran’s method of conversation appealed to the minds of people in every business of life and they followed it. In this way the verses of the holy Quran changed the whole mechanism of prose. It gave new, simple way of conveying the message in simple words. Moreover, it introduced new words, the way of focusing on meaning rather than emphasizing on mere pompous words. In addition to this, the Quranic style comprises of simple and comparitvely long sentences, easy to understand. This assignment is about the impact of Quran on jahiliya prose especially on oratory. First of all, it discusses the meanings of Quran and prose(النثر ( and impac(الأثر . (Secondly, it reveals the kinds of prose in Arabia before Islam.Lastly it deals with the comparison of Islamic and jahili oratory.
