Abstract
Imam Muhammad binJareerTabari, commonly known as IbneJareerTabari was a renowned scholar of his time. He was born in “Aamil” an area of Tabaristan and led his life in Baghdad (capital of Iraq). He was a scholar of Tafseer, Hadith and History. As Mufassir he wrote “TafseereTabari”, as Historian “Tareekhul Umam WalMuluk” and many other books. Some people link him to Shia (an Islamic sect), but they make mistake about him as Another Tabari, by chance, with same name exist in the history who was a Shia scholar. He was also the writer of many books. This article discusses the services of IbneJareerTabari, who was the scholar and representative of Sunni (a sect of Islam). As a historian, as said earlier, he wrote a famous book with the name of “TareekhulUmamWalMuluk”. He discusses many events in a different way than other historians.
