Abstract
After providing a brief political background of the province of N. W.F.P, the article highlights the Quaid-i-Azam tour of Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu on 16 April 1948.In partf ular the article focuse› on the enthusiasm presented by the people of Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Settled di5tt icts and the tribal areas to the Quaid. Quaid-i-Azam made two speeches there. One in Dera Ismail than and other in Bannu.The. main idea of the speeches is that he stressed the need for Unity among the people and demanded their uns I in t ng support to lhe Government in solving the various problem facing the state. As such the article concludes that contrary Io popular belief, the people of that area mingled in wild enthusiasm and presented a scene of sartorial riot wf/h their full devotion fo the Quaid.
