Abstract
In the endless list of Naat- Poets, Allama Mahir Karnali is a new and pleasant addition. Though he is a versatile poet who has composed all geners of poetry, Naat is his speciality in which he has attained a remarkable place amongst the modern Naat poets. After the sudden demise of his son in 1988, Mahir was divorced from traditional love poetry of Nazam and Ghazal. Now his focus utterly changed to the composition of Naat in which he has been successful to a great extent. There is a profound sense of love, reverence, pathos and restlessness visible in each and every verse of Mahir who is no doubt a true lover of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Language of his Naat is simple and a contemporary sense can also be traced while going through his Naats. Naat-lovers will find a treasure of peace, tranquilitiy and solace while chanting his naats and they are transported into a world of spiritual peace.
