Abstract
Sunflower-mungbean intercropping system was evaluated for sou" moisture and nutrient depletion by growing sole crops of sunflower and mungbean in comparison with sunflower■+mungbean (1:1) and sunflower+mungbean (1:2) intercropping at University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi during spring and summer 1996. Both the intercropping systems depleted more soil moisture than mungbean sole but less than sunflower sole. This pattern was consistent at all the stages in both the seasons. Depletion of N, P and K occurred in all the treatments during both seasons.
