Abstract
This paper raises concerns regarding the role of PEMRA and the rules
governing the content on Pakistani television. The paper aims to
identify the different phenomena which have become common place
in the Pakistani media these days. In the later section, it tries to isolate
and discuss the historical development of the adopted western
cultural ideals, which author’s argue led to these phenomena.
