Abstract
Pakistan became an independent county on the map of the World in 1947 on religious grounds. Though the religious parties opposed the idea of a separate state at an early stage but later on a section of Ualmas joined the struggle for freedom. Despite opposition, mostly religious parties have destined in Pakistan and play their role in constitution making process which was lacking for approximately nine years. This paper intends to investigate the role of religious parties after the partition in the constitution making process in general and Jamiat Ulama-ePakistan (JUP) in-depth analysis. Moreover, it is an attempt to analyze the performance of JUP during the first decade in line with the objectives of the formation of JUP
