Abstract
Literary era of Sadegh Hedayat and his contemporary
novelists in Persian is important due to its thematic as well as
stylistic significance. Novelists of that time focused on
expressing their view point on social evils and injustice in
society and elaborated the worst condition of common man in
their writings. They were influenced by social realism
movement and tried to maintain global standards of literature
especially the fiction. The article attempts to analyze the
salient features of writings of Sadegh Hedayat and his
contemporaries
