Abstract
Prof. Dr. Safia Bashir Gandapur is basically an economist.
She is also interested in Urdu literature and wrote many short
stories. “ Zarghona” is a collection of her short stories. These
short stories are mainly related to the social and economic
problems of women. This article is intended to present an
account of how successfully she has highlighted these
problems which are faced by the women of our society .As
the women of this locale are facing these problem yet,
therefore this writer, her book and this socioeconomic study
of these short stories get more significance in present scenario
