Abstract
Time had been and is still one of the most investigated mysteries. Even eminent
scientists tried to explore this aspect of existence. Einstein presented the idea of
time dilation. Theory of Relativity expounds that; there may be a difference in
the time experienced by two observers, because of a velocity difference relative
to each other, or by being differently situated relative to a gravitational field.
Such a mysterious and interesting idea could never be overlooked by the writers
of fiction. The literary works like Time Machine by H.G Wells present the
character in times elapsed. Shams Ur Rehman Farooqi's novel Qabz-e-Zaman is
also one of those attempts in which literature employed the mystery of time.
Time dilation is the main idea around which the plot of Qabz-e-Zaman has been
constructed. This research article explores how some of the concepts utilized by
Shams-ur-Rehaman Farooqi, are not the newest ideas. Even the main plot in
Qabz-e-Zaman is also not the first hand creation of Shams-ur-RehmanFarooqi as
it has been copied from Tazkara-e-Ghosia by Hazrat Maulana Shah Gul Hassan.
