Abstract
Monastic thoughts of "Chishtias" are famous in the subcontinent for centuries.
Patriarchs of "Chishtias'' have played a pivotal role in spreading the monastic
literature in the subcontinent. There are a lot of Urdu biographies are available
in the thesaurus of monastic literature in Sindh. Like other kinds of monastic
literature, the Patriarchs of ''Chishtias'' have also written many biographies. In
this article, those biographies are discussed which were related to ''Chishtias
Chain'' of Sindh. Main objectives of discussion biographies are Love, strong
attachment with their patriarchs and to preserve the life history of their
''Sheikhs''. Although the writers have not adopted the technical method of
writing biography but the fact is that they are still beneficial and helpful to the
people, especially for those who attached themselves with the Monastic System.
Monastrial biographies are neglected in the history of Urdu literature. Keeping
their importance in view, they should be given their due place in the History of
Urdu literature.
