Abstract
Resistance is one of the most important subjects of modern fiction, especially in the people related to post-colonial or Common Wealth countries. Mustansar Hussain Tarar is also one of the most prominent fiction writers of Urdu language. He also belongs to a post-colonial country which has the history of resistance. After the partition, Mustansar Hussain Tarar is counted among the Urdu novelists who have different elements of resistance in their novels. He also has his own style of offering resistance in his novels. "Rakh" is one of his most popular novels and is based on the background of partition and its aftermath resisting against social injustices, cruel attitudes, unhealthy feelings and the society of male domination. In this article, I have tried my best to explore and elaborate the dominant ways in which resistance has been conceptualized within postcolonial studies through the Mustansar Hussain Tarar's Novel "Rakh" and its character Mardan Ali
