Abstract
Yousuf Zafar is an eminent poet of Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zouq. He has various colors and shades in his poetry. He gets the themes for his poetry from life. In his poetry, he mainly focused on the topics of religion, Sufism and nationalism. He thought that in order to become a true Pakistani first he has to become a true Muslim. He also wrote many poems on the famous personalities of Pakistan like Quid-e-Azam, Iqbal, Liaqat Ali Khan, and Hafeez Jhalandhry. Yousuf Zafar is very keen to save our cultural heritage, particularly the Urdu language. This article studies Yousuf Zafar's conceptualization of religion and nationalism.
