Abstract
The term postmodernism is coined for the study of British and French cultural and literary scenario of imperialism from 18th to 20th century. In the context of postcolonialism, the study of literature aims to diminish western culture and its values of Eurocentrism. In western postcolonialism, Fanom and Said are significant names and in Urdu literature, Nasir Abbas Nayyar and Gopi Chand Naring are considered important critics. In modern Saraiki poetry elements of postcolonial thoughts are present. In the poetry of Isha Loal and Riffat Abbas, the elements of resistance against oppression and hegemony, and local cultural identity are the constant subjects as this article has shown.
