Abstract
The fall of East Pakistan marks a dark chapter in the history of Pakistan. Of this
great tragic loss, writers could find little and of minor depth to fill their novels
with. There are novels on this subject of course, but they could hardly be called
the best and in-depth portrayals of what went during the fall of the East
Pakistan. Their category is certainly not the topnotch. As a result of ideological
crisis, another division soon occurred.Besides the linguistic disputes and the
geographical distancing, the condescending attitude of the leaders of the state
was the last straw and paved way for the Bengalis to fight for a separate
homeland. The research paper aims to discuss those novels which have depicted
this lack of ideological identity, causing the fateful Fall of Dacca.
