Abstract
Majeed Amjad is one of the prominent poets of modern era of Urdu poetry. He is
known to be a trend setter poet of Nazm, however, his ghazal is equally important with
regard to its thematic approach as well as stylistic characteristics. His poetry very
expressively manifests his political vision in every genre of poetry he composed.
However, his way of expression is different and a bit indirect as compared to his
contemporary poets. He expressed sorrows, miseries and problems of the common
people caused due to political exploitation and social injustice. This article is an attempt
to analyze Majeed Amjad' sghazal in this context
