Abstract
Dr. Saleem Akhtar is a multi-dimensional Urdu prose writer. He is
an acclaimed critic, known fiction writer, popular literary historian,
literary reviewer, Iqbal and Ghalib Scholar, travelogue writer, biographer,
translator, satirist and humourist and contributor in text books and as well
as in general psychology. He is an author of more than 90 books. He started
his literary career as juvenile story writer at the age of 12 in 1946. Since then,
his pen has never stopped. This is a period of more than 70 years. During
this period a lot has been written on Dr. Saleem Akhater's life, personality
and works in the forms of books, articles, theses and special numbers of
periodicals which may be called as Saleem Akhtar Recognition. This article
is an account of the Saleem Akhtar Recognition with special reference to the
published books on him.
