Abstract
Religious Consciousness has gathered Allama Muhammad Iqbal and
Altaf Hussain Hali on same platform. Remembrance of glorious past of
Muslim Ummah, Islamic Golden ages, the sorrow of forgetfulness of our
great ancestors' customs, and the present condition of Muslim decline were
the same reasons which influence iqbal and Hali, both, to write such
masterpiece. So, "Hali's Musaddass" and Iqbal's two poems "Shikwa","Jwab
e Shikwa" was written for the same purpose. These poems extol the legacy
of Islam and its civilizing role in history, bemoan the fate of Muslims
everywhere, and squarely confront the dilemmas of Islam in modern times.
On poetic levels, Iqbal and Hali's writing style is quite different. But on
intellectual levels, both have similar thought and passion. Thus, if we
compare Iqbal's Shikwa and Jwab e Shikwa with "Hali's Musaddas", we see
a great resemblance in these poems. These poetic and intellectual
similarities have described in this article
