Abstract
"Optimism" is one of the different trends prevailing in literature. It is
not only a value but also a strength and philosophy of life. It is known as
universal literary trend, that encourages people to see positive and brighter
aspects of life. This aptitude gives strength to its believers that "nothing is
impossible". Optimism has its religious, philosophical and psychological
background.
This research article gives over view of optimism in different poetic
traditions. Optimistic philosophy influenced eastern and western literature
and played a significant role in 20th century's literature which led them to
freedom movements. Alongwith Urdu, other literatures including English,
Arabic, Persian, and Punjabi have sound optimistic background. This paper
also deals with the important optimistic poets participating in different
literary movements all over the world.
