Abstract
Allama Shibli Naumani was a great literary and religious scholar. He
like Sir Sayyed Ahmad Khan, Altaf Hussain Hali and Allama Muhammad
Iqbal guided Indian Muslims during tyrannical period of British Empire in
India. In spite of his rigid and traditional religious concepts he was of the
opinion that if Muslims want to compete with global powers of their age
they have to embrace the concepts of Western materialistic sciences. In this
context readers could easily appreciate his enlightened approach towards
the progress of culture and civilization at large.
