Abstract
This paper makes a case for modelling institutions in South Asia based on the visions of the
founding fathers of our societies and claims we can move towards greater cooperation and
communication in the region through such linkages and cooperation of institutions within the
system. The paper works within the broad paradigm of institutional economics aimed to
transforming South Asia through bias free (unbiased) quality institutions. Emerging from this
perspective it is our contention that ethics and holistic institutional perspectives are in fact central
to the understanding of economic outcomes in a societal context
