Abstract
I am lucky to find an opportunity to study the book
“Khizanat Al-Adab wa Ghayat Al-Arab’’ written by “Allama TaqiudDin Al-Hamvi” with meticulous care and innovative thinking. It was
been written in 826 Hijri. It reveals the intellectual greatness of the
writer. It has nearly touched the mark of sublimity. It is not only
focused on a single theme but also it is an encyclopedia of Arabic
literature. The book coveres different areas such as rhetoric,
criticism, biography, language, history, prose and poetry. The
students and scholars of literature will be very unfortunate (who do
not touch this book).
Despite of all the above qualities and solid efforts of the
writer, the mentioned book has certain spotted areas. There are
certain verses in this book that have been quoted wrongly by the author. These verses are highlighted and discussed here in this
article.
