Every Company that produces something or provides any sort of service
needs to disseminate information of its products and services to masses
aiming to invite them to buy those products and use its services. The medium
all companiesutilize these days is an advertisement. Through this medium
they consider people of the whole world their customers. Therefore, they
address the world all the way at once by publishing or broadcasting their
advertisements via print and electronic media. A true Muslim when
experiences something and he is unaware of the Islamic Ruling, he searches
for that. Hence Advertisement is being defined in this article. Firstly lexical
meaning of the advertising in three languages Arabic, Urdu and English, is
discussed along with thoseeight words which are close to it in meaning.
Secondly multiple definitions of the advertisement are mentioned from
different aspects. Lastly comparison of Islamic and Non Islamic definitions is
presented.
