‘Fundamentalism’ is usually ascribed to religious affiliation of individuals. It is an approach or a trend to evaluate individuals’ actions or behavior in religious background. It has acquired level of top trends in every walk of life, be it media, arts, industry or literature. Since last few decades it has spread around the globe regardless of any discrimination between poor and rich, developed, and undeveloped countries or regions. Another prominent feature of ‘fundamentalism’ is that it is not delimited to any particular social or religious group rather without any discrimination of religion, nation, or education it prevails everywhere. Current research paper sets out to investigate elements of ‘fundamentalism’ in a very popular classical Urdu novel ‘Tuzkarra’ written by Khadija Mastoor. The study delineates that none of the characters including Hindus, Sikh, or Muslims are free from this social trait. Thus, this is a social evil which by no means can be associated with any particular religion. The author has objectively studied all the characters and themes presented in this noel to present an unbiased picture to the readers.
