Journal of Research (Urdu) is a bi-annual research journal of the Department of Urdu, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan (Pakistan) , approved by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in category Y. First volume of the JOR(Urdu) was published in 2001. At that time, its name was Journal of Research. As it was being published under the Faculty of Languages and Islamic Studies, at that time so the articles of different subjects of the concerned faculty were accepted and considered for publishing. Later in 2008, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan recognized it as a research journal of Urdu in category Z and thus named it Journal of Research (Urdu). In 2015 it was elevated to category Y. Its thirty five (35) volumes have been published till now. Founder editor of this research journal was Prof. Dr. Anwaar Ahmad, followed by Prof. Dr. Rubina Tareen, Prof. Dr. Aqeela Javed and Prof. Dr. Qazi Abid. Currently, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafqatullah (Dean, Faculty of Languages and Islamic Studies) is the chief-editor while Prof. Dr.Mumtaz Khan Kalyani is editor and Dr. M. Sajid Khan and Dr. M. Khawar Nawazish are the sub-editors.
