Abstract
This paper focuses on the comparative study of Islamic and Western research
foundations. Debate in academia concerning to the issues faced by the researchers of religious
studies seems a gap of diversion between two major discourses of Islam and the West. A
researcher has to find out appropriate methods from diverse philosophical variations available
in both paradigms. Applying phenomenological method in qualitative paradigm the paper
explores that there is a significant difference in the world views of Islamic and Western
research paradigms and it is not pertinent to search out points of intersection between them.
Finally, the study concludes that researchers of theological concerned areas must rethink
paths to ponder cutting edge philosophical and applied issues of contemporary era.
