Abstract
The Noble Qur’an is the primary source of Islamic Shariah and is the origin of the principles for Islamic legislation, rulings, and secrets. This research tends to examine the principles of inference in the field of interpretation as highlighted by Imam Ibn Ashur in his exegesis renowned “al-Tahrīr wa al-Tanvīr [Liberation and Enlighten].” Indeed, this exegesis is unique in reflecting on principles of inference and hence named as “Tahrīr al-Ma’na al-Sadīd wa Tanvīr al-Aqal al-Jadīd” [Liberation of Correct Meaning and Enlighten of the Logic]. Therefore, authors intended to delineate an in-depth study on the topic in the light of exegesis “al-Tahrīr wa al-Tanvīr.” The study comprises of two sections. The first section discusses the opinion of Ibn Ashur regarding the comprehension of the principles of inference in his egesis. The second section highlights the inference from legal rulings as examined by Imam Ibn Ashur. The researcher employed qualitative analytical methodology to explore relevant data and finally present conclusion of the study.
