Abstract
The well-known literary figure and intellectual Dr Raj Wali Shah Khattak (Jan, 1952 –
July 2015) born at Dak Ismail Khel district Nowshehra. His contributions for Pashto Language
and literature are authentic and incredible. We also saw him a great preserver of Pashtun
culture. The idioms and proverbs always play a vital role for any language, thus Pashto
language has a large number of idioms and proverbs. Beside other genera Dr Raj Wali Shah
Khattak also used Pashto idioms unintentionally while somewhere intentionally in his poetry.
Which make his poetry much more attractive and impressive. In this research paper we will
discuss the use of idioms in his poetry.
