Abstract
Swat State emerged in 1915. First school was established in Swat in 1922. During Minagul
Abdul Wadud’s reign he also established two State run institutions for religious education. In
the beginning the people of Swat financially supported schools in Swat. Later on State was
enabled to support education in Swat. First college was established in Swat during the reign
of Miangul Jahanzeb. This article explore the development and prominent features of
informal, religious and modern education in Swat State.
