Abstract
This article highlights the Urdu poetry of Ajmal Khattak. He was one of those personalities who played their due role for the uplift of Urdu poetry particularly Azad Urdu poem in the environs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His Urdu poetry is often ignored and he is generally associated only with Pashto poetry, language and literature. Although he wrote a lot in Pashto language as he himself belonged to a Pashtoon family yet he spared some time to write in Urdu language particularly Azad Urdu Nazam. Hence, this article deals with Ajmal Khattak's Urdu poems which he wrote in his lifetime and provides an analysis of those poems as well.
