Abstract
In Islamic history, people consulted individual religious
scholars for their problems. However, in contemporary society
most of the people prefer to consult institutions over individuals
despite presence of many renowned religious scholars both
contemporarily and every era in the past. Such institutions are
called Dar Ul Afta.
In the backcloth of Pakistani society, Karachi which is the
capital of the province of Sindh has played a pivotal role in
hosting many popular Dar ul Afta which has left indelible
effects on the rest of Pakistan.
In this research, different Darul Afta of Karachi and their
juristic leanings have be discussed. It has also been researched
to what extent has these institutions effected the society of
Pakistan and what is it
