Abstract
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was a well-known progressive poet and short
story writer. He narrated and painted the real shape of Punjab's rural
life. In Punjab province, there is a visible difference between rural
andurban community in sense of living styles, customs and standards.
Comparatively rural area is more populated as well as more ignorant to
the new developments in the modern fields of knowledge. All the
atmosphere is overwhelmed by supernatural and feudalistic elements. In
this article, the author tried to analyzeQasmi's fiction to dig out the bitter
facts of Punjab'srural life.
