Abstract
Hafiz Taib holds a prominent place in the realm of Na't poetry. Owing
to the diversity of subjects in his poetic compositions, he has been called
"Mujadid-e-na't". Having served as a Professor and the Head of the
Department of Punjabi Language, University of the Punjab, his scholastic
knowledge won acclaim among his contemporaries and the posterity. He
compiled books on poems, ghazals and na'ts in both Urdu and Punjabi
languages. His work regarding the na'ts of Holy Prophet (Peace be upon
him) is a reflection of his immense love for him. While writing a na't he
tried to limit his imagination within the restraint of Shari'ah. To exemplify
his acumen in this field, his book about na't poetry "Sik Mitran Di" has been
analyzed in this research article. The research article shows that his poetic
verses are in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is also shown that
they have been written from the core of a heart which loves the Holy
Prophet (peace be upon him).
