Abstract
Urdu poem is divided into two phases i.e. Qadeem(ancient) and
Jadeed (modern). Iqbal stands at the border line having a deferent
approach. All of three are different in so many ways, in their diction, craft,
treatment and worldview. That is why they demand different approach of
criticism and different principles of criticism
