Pashtunwali means all the Customs, tradition customary laws and usages as well as social relations prevailing in Pakhtun Society. It is the unwritten law of the Pakhtuns, which has been passing from father to son for centuries and it is as old as the history of Pakhtun. In these social norms, some are similar to Islamic thoughts and rulings while some vary the basic concept of Islamic culture. As it has been a universal truth that the Pukhtoons are followers of Islam in every corner of the world. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the acquired systems with respect to Islamic culture. The article under reference is an attempt in the same way in which both the culture’s have been compared and analyzed scholarly.
