Abstract
In twentieth century, Urdu literature manifests a vast influence of two great
thinkers Freud and Marx. Progressive movement was based on Marxist theory
whereas the influence of Freudian psychology can be seen on the writers
associated with 1-lalqa Arbab e Zauq. Mostly it is believed tilat the writers and
critics of Haiqa were of the famous view “literature for literature’s sake. In this
article crïtical and literary trends of Haiqa Arabab e Zauq are discussed in this
context.
