The Apostasy is a known issue that has been
highlighted in detail in Islamic law’s provisions.
Committing the Apostasy is liable to death punishment
and dissolution of marriage that is why it is condemnable
and the followers have been warned to avoid this
wrongdoing. Like the others Islamic ideas, the matter of
apostasy has also been challenged by the thinkers of the
modern era. Moreover, in contemporary legal framework,
there find some points that go in against of the Islamic
ideology. This study aims to explore the status of Apostasy
and its legal impacts in Sharia by mentioning the thoughts
of Muslim Jurists. In this connection, the analysis of
Family Laws (dissolution of marriage on account of
apostasy) has been mentioned with answers to the queries
of the modern observers.
